Plum Play are partnered with the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity. The Rainbow Trust supports families who have a child aged 0-18 years with a life-threatening or terminal illness. Plum have been in partnership with the Rainbow Trust for over two years and are dedicated to their case. We spoke to the Rainbow Trust about their charity, partnership and why it is important to support a charity.
Could you tell us a bit about Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity and what you do?
For families coping with serious childhood illness, life is unthinkably tough. Every family supported by Rainbow Trust is paired with an expert Family Support Worker who supports the family practically and emotionally so they are better able to cope and can face the future, whatever it may hold. We support the whole family, as we understand that the trauma and grief that comes with childhood illness impacts not only the sick child themselves but also parents, healthy siblings, grandparents and other family members.
Could you describe how Plum Play is supporting Rainbow Trust at CarFest 2021?
We want to add to the amazing CarFest experience and give families some respite and downtime at a busy festival. What better way to do this than with a creative, fun activity for children to explore their artistic side and craft their own festival crowns, superhero masks and rainbow wands to add to the CarFest vibe? Plum Play is helping us achieve this by sponsoring all our craft materials and the colourful tent decorations plus donating branded tote bags for families to take their new creations home. We also have some of their fabulous Plum Discovery Create and Paint Easels for little ones to play with. They are fantastic and all paint comes off with warm soapy water, making it easy for the children to take turns.
Thanks to Plum Play, we have a relaxing, vibrant and colourful CarFest presence providing plenty of smiling faces, as families chill out at the Rainbow Trust Tent!

Having the guaranteed support from Plum Play is fantastic for a children’s charity like Rainbow Trust. We are lucky enough to benefit from a percentage of Plum Play’s profit sales throughout the year, helping us provide consistent and reliable support to families with a seriously ill child. What would you say to businesses or organisations thinking about supporting a charity through their products or work?
It is fantastic to support a charity through your business; you are supporting communities day by day and making a difference to peoples’ lives. Companies who are passionate about supporting charities as part of their corporate social responsibility, benefit from boosting team morale through team-building projects, fundraising activities and volunteering opportunities, but customers love to know that a brand they are buying from is giving back in some way to cause they also care deeply about.
