Here at Play Teach Repeat, we are super excited to be taking over Plum this half term week on their social media channels and blog. We have put together 4 half term activities for you to do outdoors. Lots of autumn and Halloween fun!

1. Pumpkin Carving
After a busy morning picking pumpkins from the local farm, the boys couldn’t wait to get home and carve out their faces. Why do it inside when you can be outdoors? The boys are sat at their Surfside Wooden Sand & Water Picnic Table. This creative table is a perfect accessory to any garden play area – we love it! It’s sturdy, perfect size for little ones and great for outdoor crafts and play.
2. Conker Water Play
Do your children love water play? Mine certainly do! I’m also a huge fan of quick and easy play ideas. Using the water section of our Surfside Wooden Sand & Water Picnic Table, I filled it up with warm water, dropped in some conkers and utensils for a simple scooping and pouring activity. The water tray comes ready lined and the bench seats allow for children to stand up or sit down whilst they’re playing. Keeping both mine happy!
3. Autumn Sand Play
Learning through play is definitely the best way. Using the sand section of our Surfside Wooden Sand & Water Picnic Table from Plum. I filled it with orange sand and added some mark making tools and leaves I’d written letters on.
This activity was aimed at Jake (3y10m) but for those younger, picking up a writing tool (e.g. stick) and making any marks is the first step of learning to write. This activity can be developed into writing numbers, shapes or even words. The sand tray comes with a liner to help contain the sand. Having a lid means activities can be safely put away for another day!
4. Halloween Picnic
Not all picnics need to be outside! The Surfside Wooden Sand & Water Picnic Table from Plum is perfect for indoor or outdoor use. The boys loved helping us to create this spooky feast!
