Our product design team have partnered with Innovate UK and experts in biomechanics at The University of Lincoln, to research how children interact with trampolines.
We’ve re-designed trampoline testing, making a move from static to dynamic testing and human integration, which has never been done before to this level of precision.
Dynastic testing replicates the child’s bounce, whereas standard testing uses a static load. Dynamic testing focuses on trampoline stretch, which allows us to improve safety, bounce performance, as well as the fun a child can have on a trampoline.
We are the first manufacturer in the world to research and understand how humans move and interact with a trampoline. Using biomechanics (the science of how we produce and use force to move), we have developed world leading knowledge on how we bounce. We pair this with a motion capture system, which allows us to measure movement to within a 10th of a millimetre. This means that we can accurately track spring and bed stretch, as well as the impact on children’s joints.
At Plum Play, we’ve built the world’s largest database of bounce data - and we’re using it to lead the way in trampoline innovation.
