Summer is now in full swing! So, now is the perfect time to try out some fun summer games and activities using your trampoline, that are sure to keep your children busy this summer.

With over two million trampolines sold worldwide, Plum Play are the number one choice for healthy active play. All Plum trampolines have Springsafe Technology to separate jumpers from the springs and frame, resulting in safe and most importantly, fun trampolining!

1. Beach Ball Bounce

Beach ball bounce is a great trampoline ball game to play this summer and will bring some seaside fun to your garden.

All you need is a beach ball, and your trampoline and you’re ready to go.

There are a few ways to play this game.

Two Players

Children can take turns bouncing on the trampoline mat and throw the beach ball up into the air, seeing who can bounce and throw it the highest.

Three Plus Players

Another way to play is to have one child in the middle of the trampoline and have the other children around the outside. A child on the outside of the trampoline can throw the beach ball up and over the trampoline net to a child on the opposite side.

The aim is for the child on the trampoline to try and jump as high as they can and intercept the ball, catching it when it’s above the trampoline before it reaches the other player on the outside.

You can even introduce a point scoring system, for example, each time the player on the trampoline catches the ball they get a point, and each time the player on the outside successfully throws the ball over the top without the child on the trampoline catching the ball, they get a point instead. The first player to get to 10 points is the winner.

2. Trampoline Artwork

Creating colourful trampoline artwork is a great activity to keep your kids busy this summer and adds a pop of colour to the garden space at the same time.

To get started with this activity you will need your trampoline and some colourful pieces of chalk. Jumbo chalk pieces work well for little ones, as they are easier to hold.

The opportunities for getting creative are virtually limitless here. Children can unleash their inner Picasso and go freestyle, drawing their favourite summer things onto the jumping mat. Maybe they will draw flowers or ice creams, bugs or rainbows? Whatever your children decide to draw, this activity is bound to get their creativity flowing and keep them occupied during the sunny summer days.

The best part about this activity is that it is simple to set up and requires little clean-up afterwards.

Once the children have finished their masterpieces you can take photos so that they can look back on all the lovely trampoline artworks that they have made. Then, simply wait for a summer rainstorm to wash the artwork away, so it’s clean and ready for another day. Alternatively, you can place a sprinkler under the trampoline, not only will this provide a refreshing mist for the budding artists to cool down, but it will also remove the chalk from the mat at the same time.

3. Trampoline Hopscotch

There’s even more fun to be had with chalk and your trampoline this summer.

To begin this activity, help your children to draw a hopscotch court on the trampoline jumping mat.

This is a great summer activity to keep your children busy and everyone can get involved with drawing out the grid and having a go at the hopscotch too.

This game is also a great way to help develop children’s motor skills.

Motor skills are important skills that children develop as they grow. Gross motor skills are things like balancing and running. Fine motor skills involve smaller muscles and include things like writing and drawing.

Developing fine and gross motor skills helps your children to learn, increases their confidence and improves their skills. Getting creative with chalk on the trampoline is a great way to encourage children to develop these skills in a fun way.

4. Water Balloon Bounce

Water balloons are a classic summer activity staple. A water balloon bounce is an exciting way to keep children busy this summer, get them outside, and help them to cool down at the same time.

For this trampoline game all you will need is your trampoline and some filled water balloons.

Next, simply place the water balloons onto the trampoline and let the kids bounce away. As they bounce, the balloons will begin to pop and provide a cool splash of water. See how high they can make the balloons go before they splash back down onto the trampoline mat.

5. Fill and Float

Fill and float is another water play activity that children can try out this summer.

For this game, you will need your trampoline, some cups, ping pong balls, and water and water shooters.

The aim is to fill the water in the cup so that the ping pong ball reaches the top.

Four Plus Players, Two Teams

One child from each team will stand on the trampoline with their ping pong ball in their cup. Their teammates will be around the outside of the trampoline and have water shooters.

The aim is for the team to fill the water in the cup so that the ping pong ball reaches the top.

The team who gets their ball to the top of the cup first is the winner.

6. Bird’s Nest

This activity is a fast-paced trampoline ball game that involves running around, scavenger hunting and throwing. This all-in-one game is bound to keep the children active and busy through summer!

For this activity, you will need your trampoline and some soft coloured balls.

In this trampoline ball game, the trampoline is the bird’s nest. One player stays in the nest whilst the other children are runners. Firstly, all the runners are given a colour and then need to close their eyes. It’s the bird’s job to hide the balls whilst the runners have their eyes closed, no peeking! Get children to think imaginatively about this, hiding coloured balls in plants, and play equipment, up high and down low.

Once the bird is done hiding the play balls, they will sit back in the nest and call the runners back into the garden.

Now it’s the runners’ job to find the coloured balls that match the colour they were given at the start.

When a runner finds a ball that matches their assigned colour, they must run and throw the ball over the trampoline enclosure and into the bird’s nest.

The bird needs to count to thirty whilst the runners are searching, or they can use a sand egg timer instead. When time is up, the person playing the bird tweets loudly several times, this signifies that time is up. Then all the runners must come back to the nest for the counting. The bird counts all the balls and whichever runner has the most coloured balls at the end is the winner.

7. Bubble Bounce

Bubble Bounce is an activity that’s ideal for little ones. It’s a fun way to introduce them to trampolines and a great activity for sunny days.

All you need for this activity are some bubbles with a bubble wand and your trampoline.

For this trampoline game, sit your child in the middle of the trampoline and start blowing bubbles into the jumping space. Encourage your little one to pop the bubbles before they float away. Your child can also have a go at blowing bubbles themselves, helping them to develop their fine motor skills as they hold the bubble wand and practise blowing bubbles.

To take this activity to the next level and keep your little ones even busier, you can even have a go at making homemade bubble solutions together too.

One of the easiest ways to do this is to mix 140ml of washing up liquid, 430 ml of water and two teaspoons of sugar. Then your bubble mix is ready! If you don’t use it all, simply pop it in a recycled jam jar for use another day.

You can even make your own bubble wands from pipe cleaners too or use a kitchen whisk!
