Made from FSC®-certified sustainably sourced wood, children can engage in STEAM play with the Plum Discovery Forest Water Run. The water run consists of three levels with five individual wooden reservoirs. Each reservoir has a transparent watertight liner. Children can start the adventure by filling the top reservoir; this compartment has a hosepipe attachment to ensure a constant water flow. From there, kids can work the three-way racing gates, which can be opened and closed to different heights to regulate flow and water direction. Watch as the water floods the natural bamboo racing chutes into the reservoirs below.
The premium version has a beautiful cascade creating a waterfall effect, wooden blocks that can be placed in the third and fourth reservoirs to change water play patterns creating new routes and a balancer that can be added to the end of the water run that fills with water and tilts creating a big splash at the end!

Mulling over what sort of setup I should have/can have for the play area…
With this being an ultra-high-end holiday property it’s a real challenge working out how to appeal to everyone. Realistically, I imagine many guests will be adults only and won’t want to see a hint of anything child related. However, catering to families is hugely important to me so my aim is to have a dedicated section of the garden, tucked away but taking up one entire side of the house, purely for play. This way it will be immense fun for little ones but quite easily go unnoticed to those not using it.
Then comes the challenge of what to put in the space available, age groups to cater to, safety of course but also in-keeping with the vibe property. As much as Fisher Price, Argos and Little Tykes make some amazing toys, I have to admit I hate bulky plastic tat 🙈 and don’t really think it quite goes with the vision. I’m a wooden toy girl through and through and love seeing their little imaginations run wild as they play ‘pretends’.
